How to Use the New Library Catalog

Visit the Online Catalog to check your library account, and find and request library materials. These directions and short tutorial videos can help you learn to navigate the new Library Catalog Online.

How to View Your Account in the Online Catalog

You can view the items you have checked out, items you have requested, and any fines you owe, by logging in to the Catalog. You will need:

  • your full library card number
  • your PIN

Enter your library card number and PIN in the upper right hand corner, and click “Login.” When you are logged in, your name will display in the upper right hand corner of the Catalog screen.

To view your account information, click on “My Account.” To see the materials you currently have checked out, view your requests, and any fines you owe, click “Review My Account.” To renew your items, click “Renew My Materials.” While you are logged in, return to your account at any time by clicking “My Account” in the navigation bar.

Placing Holds

Type the title, author, or subject you wish to search for in the Quick Search box, and choose the appropriate index. For more advanced search options, choose “Power Search” in the navigation bar.

On your search results page, click the title of an item that you wish to request. To request the item, click “Place Hold” under the image of the material. To see a summary of item’s contents, click “A Look Inside.” For a list of similar or related materials, click one of the links under the image of the item, including “Find more by this author,” “Find more on these topics,” or “Nearby items on shelf."

To continue browsing your search results, click “Go Back” on the navigation bar.

Log Out

When you have finished interacting with the Online Catalog, log out by clicking “End Session” in the navigation bar.
